Age Categories:  50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+

Competition Divisions:  Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, and Open Doubles.   The age division of competition for the doubles team will be determined by the younger age of the two partners.

NOTE:  Any changes will be announced the day of the event.  Any circumstances not covered by the following rules will be ruled upon by the event coordinator.

Event Rules:  Players place the disks in their half of the 10-off area and shoot them from there toward the scoring area at the opposite end of the court.  Player may not step on or over the base line.  Penalty for either of these violations is the loss of 5 points.  The starting end of the court is the head.   Yellow disks on the right side head, the left side at the foot.  Players stand side by side at the same end, one playing from the right half of the 10-off area the other from the left.  Right plays first, then left, and so on until all disk are shot. The players then change and the left shoots first, and so on until all disks are shot.  Two full rounds of practice will be allowed before each match.

Score:  A disk scores the value of the area in which it finally rest.  After all eight disks have been shot.  If a disk is hit out of the scoring area or rest on a line, except the one within the 10-off area, it scores nothing.  Disks that do not pass the farthest dead line are out of play and must be removed from the court before the next disk is shot.  Singles will consist of eight (8) frames, the winner will be the player with the highest number of points after eight frames.  Double matches will consist of twelve (12) frames which six will be played by each partner who will remain at his or her respective end of the court the entire match.  The team with the highest at the end of six total frames will be the winner.  In case of a tie either doubles or singles, two extra frames will be played until the tie is broken.  Once a single/double team has a lead of 50 or more points at the end of a frame, the game will end.

The Coordinator shall have complete charge of all arrangements of the tournament, namely, conduct the drawing, pairing, assign the courts, officials, inspect the courts and all equipment, etc. and all other details. All shuffleboard matches will be conducted in accordance with official rules of the Texas State Shuffleboard Association, except as modified herein.

Directions to Event:  From the intersections of Hwy. 47 and Hwy. 100 in Washington, take Hwy. 100 East approx. 2.4 miles to N-Sports Rec Center on the left.  From Interstate 44, take Hwy. 100 West for approx. 7.5 miles to N-Sports Rec Center on the right.
